Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried - Exempt - Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000
Job Location: Kodiak HQ: Park City, Utah – On-Site / Hybrid
Individual base salary for this role ultimately will depend on numerous factors, including but not limited to experience, job-related skills, relevant education or training, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate could fall anywhere within the stated range. Beyond base salary, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment. This role also is eligible to participate in Kodiak's annual discretionary bonus program, which is dependent on various factors, including individual and company performance.
We’re looking for a driven, business-minded Brand Manager to lead Kodiak’s Oatmeal portfolio. This role owns the category end-to-end, from strategy to shelf, and is responsible for delivering both short-term performance and long-term brand growth. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, combines strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and brings sharp analytical acumen to decision-making.
What will this position do?
Own the Business:
- Lead the Oatmeal P&L, delivering against revenue, margin, and market share targets.
- Develop and execute annual and long-range strategic plans aligned to company objectives.
- Monitor and analyze business performance (velocity, distribution, pricing, promo effectiveness) and proactively identify opportunities and risks.
- Build business cases for innovation and investments, including volume, revenue, and margin projections.
- Partner closely with cross functional teammates on forecasting, demand planning, and performance tracking.
Portfolio Management:
- Develop product portfolio strategy, including SKU prioritization, SKU rationalization, and 3-year innovation pipeline.
- Lead cross-functional execution across PMO, sales, R&D, supply chain, finance, and insights to bring initiatives to life.
- Own key commercialization projects including innovation launches, renovation, and packaging updates.
- Translate consumer, category, and competitive insights into actionable growth initiatives.
- Identify whitespace opportunities and lead innovation from concept through commercialization.
Trade & Marketing Strategy:
- Partner with Business Development to refine and communicate oatmeal trade strategy and objectives to the sales team.
- Develop annual marketing plans and establish the marketing budget for the oatmeal category.
- Review and approve marketing assets to confirm messaging and content aligns with strategy.
Influence & Collaborate:
- Serve as the category expert internally and externally.
- Develop compelling internal and customer-facing presentations, including IBP and key retailer meetings.
- Influence cross-functional partners and senior leadership with clear, data-driven recommendations.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or strategy; CPG food experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to own and grow a business or category, not just support it
- Strong financial acumen – comfortable managing budgets, building forecasts, and evaluating ROI
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with scrappy, hands-on execution
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and operating with independence
- Demonstrated bias for action and initiative – you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Deep understanding of consumer-led marketing and the 4Ps
- Experience with syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Circana) and translating insights into action
- Experience navigating the product development process to commercialize and launch new items
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and able to prioritize what matters most
